Go for the patch, should be fine unless you really push it (ie track days), otherwise ask a local tyre dealer you trust, they're experts in tyres after all!

If it's straight in, I'd patch it.

patched it, it did cost me £8.
they guy put some rubber stuff in and then glue on the surface from inside and then little rubber patch on top it looks ok, do you think it would stand 120 miles etc on track days? |

If its hold up fine over the first bit of road riding, then i would imagine it would be fine. However i am no expert, but plenty of people say they have patched dozens of tyres without any failing.

Didn't want to hijack this thread, so started my own with the same issue. Straight, clean in. Stuck in deep.

it should only be repaired with a mushroom plug and patch .
what catches a repair out is if you have release agent still in the rubber . I allways give the inside a rub over with buffing fluid ,get a kitchen knife scape that over the repair area .then use the abrasive golf ball to key it and flatten were the patch part goes . Never had any issues like that on any Z rated car tyres . Done the same for my bikes They have all been fine
