Default S to N conversion, reccomened some throttle and brake lines.

Against my better judgement im going ahead with putting higher bars on my S. Not set on taking the bakini off yet, but putting renthal style bars on.
Could someone direct me to the throttle and brake lines that i'm going to need? or is it just a case of mesuring and then adding a bit for movement ?

Thanks

TBH if your set on doing it and you don't have the top yoke yet then save yourself some hassle and get a comfort kit. by the time you pizz about getting this and that it will more than likely cost the same, you might just save a 'few' pennies but not much.

you will either need to change the switchgear and pizz with the electrics, pointy N switchgear are like hens teeth, or get someone to custom make longer throttle cables.

you then have to get longer brakelines that are for the N version.

you need to track down a pointy N yoke again like hens teeth.

pointy N yoke on an S bike might cause issues until you go naked.

I'm not sure what you mean about the switchgear? surely i just need a longer throttle cable?

yes and no.

lets try and explain this.
the switchgear on the S is not long enough to route properly when fitting 'renthals' so you either need to bodge the wiring by routing it behind the fork legs, up threw the gap in the tank or extending them. a lot of people dont bother extending the cables and just bodge it round the back of the fork legs and you will do exactly the same even with a comfort kit.

the throttle cables are too short so you either need to get the N switchgear and throttle cables or get custom made throttle cables.

you need longer brake lines.

the clutch cable works but is tight.

costs.
extended throttle cables £30+
top yoke (if you can get a hold of one) £90+
brake lines £40+
Bars £30+

so a minimum of £190 if your lucky and prepared to wait.

comfort kit £280 and everything in the kit

saving of a potential £90 but a lot of waiting and a suspect top yoke from more than likely a crashed bike so could be fractured or even slightly twisted.

is it worth the possible saving of £90 is up you.

i see what you mean. the comfort kit manufacturer just quoted me £115 for the cables and brake lines. Might have to call the whole thing off. Someone in another thread told me i would be better just selling the S and getting a N. starting to agree.

if you really want to go naked then yes.

to do the whole thing right your looking at £400+ and you might make back £200 on your old parts.

If you are not too attached to your current bike, that is definitely the best way to do it. A lot easier
