I've been looking for a naked SV for a few months now, but had to sell my GSX-R600 first (a few folk on here offered theirs when I got round to selling, so thanks for that). Nothing much was happening so in the end I traded it in, and luckily got what I was looking for privately as a trade-in.
I've now got a very low mileage, nearly new, naked K8 - I almost bought a new Gladius but just couldn't bring myself to do it !!! Anyway, I'm chuffed to bits with it and already have a tail tidy and hugger ready to go. However, there's on thing I'm not sure about - it's got a red seat !!! I was going to come on here and swap it for a black one, but when my wife saw it she loved it. That's got me thinking and I'm now almost starting to like it myself. What do you think - keep or swap ? ![]() |

Nice looking sv, black and red goes well together, so the seat is fine, but the exhaust has to change, HTH

The red seat looks okay. It would probably look better with a bit of colour elsewhere like a red decal set on the tank.

Yeah, a new can is most definitely needed but I'll probably swap the tyres first. It's got the dreaded Sportmaxes on and they're as nasty as I remember from the last time I experienced them.
The new can will need to wait until after Christmas, I've got a BMX bike and a Wii to buy first (neither for me, unfortunately !!!). |

I had the same. I swapped the seat for a black one because, to me, it looks wrong having a red front and a black rear seat.
If there was a red rear seat available then I would have gone down that route. I have to admit that I do still like the red seat though. |

do you take pillions? if not drop the rail and get a cowl, keep the red seat but shy away from anymore red as the seat is nice and understated and as a single seat would look V nice

I have the same bike, love the red seat, think it looks good. Just had a spare pillion seat lowered as used to get stuck with my leg when getting on and off the bike plus the pillion seat looks too high anyway. Now it's a bit lower and more streamlined and I 'might' get it recovered prerably to a similar red but not sure if I will be able to find it. The red seat goes well with the decal.
