Default Honda CB500X

I had a decent hours test ride today and considering it is sub £5K IMPRESSED
Very light handling due to the wide bars, very flickable
470cc so you have to work the gearbox and keep it between the 5-8.5 rpm max to get the best out of it.
Happy to bimble along at 40mph in top.
Soft and long front suspension but very comfortable ride over bumpy roads.
Shows triple figs on the speedo easy enough in 5th gear.

Happy enough at 75mph on the main roads and surprising amount of wind protection from the small screen which was on the lower of two settings.

Considering that most of the time I thrashed the tits off it the computer still showed 66.8 mpg so with normal riding 70+ would be a doddle.

I know it is not everybody's choice but just a heads up for anybody looking for a nice little bike

Personally, I would love one. I reckon they look great... fuel economy would be a big bonus too

I assume this is spec'd for the new class of licence holders?

So probably suffers the same issue for all circa 500cc bikes. After a couple of months they become boring.

So probably a great commuter tool, but a terrible toy. In which case I would expect to find a glut of nearly new second hand ones coming onto the market in a years or twos time.
