Default remembering why I got on two wheels in the first place.

This year my MOT showed that I had only done 300 miles last year.

This year I had experienced one of those doubt moments back in about April when I felt something was badly wrong. The bike felt unstable as if it was going to spit me off.

Stopped, couldn't see anything. Limped the skitish thing home and put it in the garage only getting it out in July to take for an MOT and home all of about 2 miles.

Well today the day started nice and family issues making me want to get the hell away. So time to face my demons.

Sedate ride for about 15 miles and no issue. But then I needed to push an overtake and the skitish behaviour starts, right in the middle of a NSL queue. Pull up and let everyone I have just overtaken past. Still cannot find any problem. But too far away from home to turn round so might as well continue.

So now I am in a different mindset, relax. Don't push it and suddenly the bike over the next 50 miles starts to behave itself. Once my mind accepts there is nothing wrong with the bike it is simply me out of practice.

So a nice day out from Chorley up to the Bridge and home. Not too far, only about 120miles. But beat the rain and came home aching and smiling.

Hopefully that is a demon banished and I can now enjoy what is left of the decent weather.

Thanks beastly daughter for driving me out of my own home. Now I have a reason to smile again.

There's no way you can have any confidence if you've only done 300 miles in a year chap. You might as well be a brand new rider. If you have a confidence demon already, you're probably further back than a new rider. So yes mate, getting in the saddle as often as possible and banishing that demon has to be the way forward. Keep at it mate.

Take a ride over here if you want another pair of eyes over it (and me to call you a poof, obviously)

Yep, if you've got doubt over it, get chris or somebody else to look over it and /or ride it, least it will set your mind at rest.

I had similar issues after passing my test and getting my SV. Felt very weird round corners, my mates told me to man up. Come MOT time, they told me my rear shock had no damping. Replaced with original shock - jobs a gooden!

Get it checked over, there could be a genuine reason why its not behaving.

I'm sure tim is competent, but another pair of eyes (and getting called a poof a lot) can't hurt

Thanks Chris

I might just take you up on that offer. I am convinced my brain was not in the right place and there is no real issue with the bike as typified by a happy ride home.

Thats it pick on me.

I overcame the issues that my head was saying something is wrong and enjoyed the resulting experience. So why do I need to man up?

As for my lack of miles in the past few years, You know Lynne . Would you stand up to her and say no, Tim wants to play out. There I do need to man up
