Default Time for another bike too (Must be something in the water at the moment)

I am looking to get another bike, hopefully in the not too distant future, that is good for two up and longer distances (the pillion position on the SV just does not work for Mrs Clunk, making riding for more then 45 minutes in a go not really possible).

It will basically replace my car, so does anyone know of dealers who would take a car in PX? I know Fowlers in Bristol do, and will probably go there at some point soon, but any others around the West/South of London.

I've been looking at the new V-Strom, Tiger 800 (might consider the 1050 too) Tenere or the GS, mostly comes down to what Mrs C. is comfortable on as the more comfortable she is the more likely we are to use it. I am also open to suggestions of others I should look at, I am after a more upright riding and pillion position. Budget is flexible, but probably around the 5-6k mark

I am considering getting second bike to travel two up as well, but I think I am going to go for budget option - like GSX650F, as it will never be used for every day riding (I am not commuting on the bike any more).
Perhaps you should consider GSX1250F?

I like the idea of the GSX I had also thought of VFR's and the like, but not sure how different the experience would be for the pillion from the SV.

The Tiger 1050 would be the better option especially for two up as it has better suspension.

I can give you my experience with the Tiger 800, it's awesome! Much preferred it over Si's 1050 as its smaller and more nimble.I had one for the day to test ride and the engine is a little cracker, really good handling and if you get a second hand one with all the bolt ons you'll do well. Looking at your other thread though you might find it painfull on your back as it is very upright and might want something bigger for a pillion.
I had the road version, the xc has a 19" front wheel and fully adjustable suspension but I didn't test that as I won't be going off road.

That was kinda my thoughts on the 800. I'm not as tall as Si and with a pillion not sure I'd have the leverage to use the 1050 to as good effect, 1050 is cheaper though as they are a little older. Perhaps give them both a try.

My pillion is pretty small, she's only 5'3. I wouldn't be going off road either. Yeah I am a little unsure about the seating position for me, but then if we are riding longer distances, her comfort is more important then mine, as I can stop whenever I want to.

Bigger, more upright but not completely upright.

2 options really-sports tourer (VFR/Sprint ST or GT etc) or Adventurer-(GS, Tenere, V Strom etc)
TBH I think looking at the BMW range will give a whole range of bikes to look at that will ride 2 up, and luggage all day long.
