Upon some research, it turns out the Gladius was actually MADE for girls.
This one doesn't look any different from the original Glady.. |

Well removing the heavy pillion peg bracket and lower frame cover has improved it over stock noticably.

The can is quite obviously aftermarket and the headlight looks no different from here.

Yea , that's a curvy frame and pegs. Did it had a pre 2003 numberplate?
I'd like to see the modifications list on it's insurance! Perfect example of how to seriously devalue a Gladius.

So a little more information...
Found it parked next to me outside of Tescos. I hung around a bit to see if the owner turned up, but no. Wasn't obvious at first, thought it was just a Gladius with a home paint job, but the more I looked the more I thought things weren't quite original. Basically its a Gladius that has been reframed into a Curvy. It was running on a V plate that ties it to the frame, not sure what the V5 would list it as? From having a look over it the wheels, forks, and swing arm are Gladius. As is the engine, radiator, and clocks. I think the headlight is SVN. The bars and yoke could be either. Not sure about the exhaust could be from any of the models, not sure if the Curvy pipes will clear the oil cooler that the Gladius runs or if the Gladius pipes will line up with the frame but as I understand it the Pointy pipes will fit the Curvy frame and I presume will clear the cooler. More interestingly is that it looked like it was running injectors and the Gladius loom, couldn't see what if any airbox was on it. The reg rec was zip tied to the frame in the similar position to the Pointy but was not secure as was the radiator expansion tank, which I presume to be Gladius. I think the sub frame is Gladius to accommodate the bodywork. Couldn't see how the Curvy pillion pegs were mounted. The tank was also on risers at the front not sure of its rear attachment, but the lines flowed well. Overall quite an interesting bike. |
