Default Tuneboy UK availability

I'm after a tuneboy for my speed four but they are Australian based. My triumph has a snatchy throttle and according the triumph forum suggests a remap which i would like to attempt myself. I respect about all the damage i can cause but providing i have the original map stored i can just revert to original settings.

Can somebody advise what to purchase as this is the only problem I have with the bike. Otherwise I will be going back to an SV and going for a handlebar conversion.

I would start with Tune ECU http://www.tuneecu.com/

and you need this lead http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Triumph-Bi...item27dad7fef9

Several have done that on here and works

I used tune ecu on my old speed four to get rid of that rancid lurching at 3k, worked fairly well but its near impossible to get rid of completely I seem to remember.

I didn't make any maps myself, but downloaded a few from the depths of the web
I found a fantastic map on the website speedfour.org, but it's has shut down, I seem to remember finding it there. Other than that, the triumph rat forums will be able to direct you to a good map, or at least a guide on how to!

+1 on TuneECU for a start, the cable is cheap and the software free...that's assuming you can get hold of a lot of maps to try out? I know for my SM-T and R3R there are maps galore...and TuneECU is a great tool

However there's sometimes only one way to fix a bikes mapping and that's getting it tuned professionally on a dyno...

I program motor controllers in work with PID control which is all input/output based controlling so I imagine it's not a million miles away and plus as long as I have the standard map to go back I will always be in the same boat.

Another +1 for TuneECU and an ODBC cable.

Mark (Rictus) is a walking encyclopedia regards that software on Trumpets!

If you've got a map in mind to try then it's a 10 minute job, just download the existing map first so you can get back to where you begun worst case and then upload the new one. Best to plug a battery charger into the bike before you do it as you'll want the ignition on but engine not running, it's also a good idea to take out the headlight fuse too if you're gonna be at it for a while.

You may find you want to adjust 1-2% up or down on the fuel map depending where it came from and what the fuel it was based on is like, you can adjust cell by cell or across the whole grid etc...Tune ECU is a great tool, even better that it's free.

Have fun

Without monitoring air fuel you wont know whether your bike is running lean or rich and at what RPM and throttle openings. Really needs to be done on a dyno. Most home made maps we see on bikes are way out and even though the bike feels ok getting a proper remap custom to your bike makes a big difference. No 2 bikes even the same require the same fuel maps..alot of people dont realise this.

You can get some improvements with tuneboy on the trumpets, think of it like fitting a "less crap" stock map that can still be improved by dyno/lambda sensor and datalogger time.

+1 - had much better results on my SV650 after having it in your garage for custom mapping, than I did with a Power Commander and tons of messing around. I ended up with more power, better fuel consumption and a smooth throttle right through the range.
