Default Things you have lost

I'm just doing my expenses and can't find a receipt for £285 for my college fees which is a bit annoying as I'll have to get a copy. But what's the most valuable thing you have ever lost, or the most stupid way you have lost something?

I lost a favourite dress over the balcony at my hotel in Thailand last year in a breeze (it was drying out). The year before over the same balcony I lost my hire bike keys and had to spend 2 hours looking for them in the mud in the plantation below in the dark.

I've lost Treacle in the New Forest which was a bit careless, he was there one minute, gone the next. I found him in a pub eventually.

But at least I've never lost my watch up a cow's bottom - which happened to a friend when he was at vet school!

£50k. long time ago i got a scratch card which later turned out to be a winner (according to my wife) and i threw it out as i thought it was a loosing card. only reason i found out was that my wife gave me one a few days later to cash in and when i seen it i said 'that's not a winning card as it only has 2 of the amount and not three' she said 'yes but there is a bell (think it was that) which makes it a winner'. cue the buckets getting emptied etc.etc.

I'm a Yorkshire man, I'm too tight to let anything valuable get far enough away from me to be considered lost.

2 phones. The first whilst doing the worm in the mud at a beer festival. The second... well, I went to a party with a phone, discovered there was a free bar, and then I woke up the next day without a phone.

And my virginity. I actually don't know when I lost it. It could be any of several scenarios.

Rolex Oyster watch---put my hand out the window on the truck to clean the mirror and caught the catch on the window glass bringing my hand back in and saw the watch bouncing down the motorway. Several years later followed by loading a container early in the morning so I took off my watch[Dress gold Rolex this time] and when I had finished shut the doors-----truck went off to Felixstowe and was loaded on the ship by the time I had realised I didn't have it on. I have never bought another one since. It was about £10k.s worth back when but would be nearer £20k today

My ability to empathise with my clients at work.

After 15 years of the same, lame excess, I'm now practically immune to human emotion whilst at work.
