Warning sticker removal?

Hi all, so i bought myself a new SV back in September and am currently running it in. As its a new bike it is plastered with those horrible orange warning stickers which are pointless (in my view ).
I have tried peeling them off however they seem to be anti tamper?? (possibly?)
Does anyone know of a way of removing them without damaging the paintwork??
I do apologise if this seems a really dumb question but i do not want to be beaten by stickers! haha.

You could try using a hairdryer to soften the glue

I often use a quick spray of wd-40 then let it soak in and pick at it with my fingernail, there are probably many better ways and it may not work on certain types of stickers but it could be worth a try

Are some of them not below the lacquer coat?

Start with hairdryer to soften the glue a bit then pick and peel as best you can to to remove the stickers and some of the glue. I think I used something like a credit card to try to scrape the glue into thicker blobs that could be pulled away. Keep going with wd40 and hairdryer. Once the worst was done i think I found applying liquid degreaser to be quite effective. I seem to recall wondering if I should have used this earlier but it might have just spread the glue everywhere without the initial work. Who knows? It is important to constantly panic that you might be wrecking your paintwork and panels by using innapropriate tools and chemicals!

In short, it's a crappy laborious job involving the gooeyest, most sticky, horrible glue known to man but you'll get there eventually!

Ah, if they are indeed below the lacquer then bad luck. Mine weren't (2010 pointy). But they did seem to be designed to be as unpeelable as possible without just coming off in tiny fragments (quite sore up behind the fingernail!) and leaving impenetrable goo behind.

Thanks for the replies everyone, looks like it will be a mixture of wd40, hairdryer and panicking haha. Luckily it isn't below the lacquer coat, so that's a bonus I guess, but they are exactly how Sputnik described them. Literally unpeelable, at the moment I have the four corners missing tiny fragments haha! I didn't think this was going to be simple!

I took the hair dryer one step further and used a paint stripper gun, just a quick blast and scorched smouldering fingers and they were off.


Obviously don't go mad with the heat gun!!

Heat & plastic scaper, Acetone (e.g. Wife's nail varnish remover) to remove glue for the stickers on the plastics, and finish off with T Cut and Wax on painted bodywork .

Most nail polish remover these days is acetone free as it is very dying on the nails making them prone to chipping and peeling. Worth checking before you spend ages dabbing a useless liquid onto your bike and then also suffering the wrath of the Mrs when she realises you've used up all her expensive manicure products.
