After finding my speedo sensor faulty and being shocked by the replacement cost I'm investigating providing a cheap exchange repair service on them. If any body has any old units that are screwed including or the rotor unit I would be appreciative of donations and would pay postage costs or collect if near manchester. At the moment this is only an idea hence the need for some duff units to experiment on. Cheers Steve

Expensive? I had mine replaced on Christmas Eve 2009 by a Suzuki dealer for £69. The sensor had worn out so it said I was doing 60 mph honest officer.

if you're talking about the rotor thing that goes in the front wheel spindle, then yes I think they are expensive for what they are, but about £12 (if I remember correctly), so really not too bad and I just wouldn't have thought they're worth bothering to try and repair?!

Please also note that different years send a different number of pulses to the speedo. If you are going to get a collection of these going make sure you sort them carefully by year

The rotor on my 2004 is fine the problem is with the sensor itself and they are expensive at around £120 or so new

I guess the rotors are the key to the different amount of pulses per revolution ?
