Default Worm Drive Ball Bearing Size?

Hi Guys,

I have a 1999 SV650S

Wonder if you can help, just been fitting all new clutch bit and thought i'f give the worm drive a good clean while i was there and apply new grease, however when i opened the drive i notice there to be alot of ball bearings missing, not good. Now i'm thinking i might just replace all the ball bearings with new ones as i really don't want to be buying another drive.

My questions is: What size are the ball bearings?

Cheers,

Si

They probably fell out due to the drive being worn.

Hi
I am about to buy one for my wifes bike, could you please tell me where you got it from. So far I am looking at £44 which seems a lot for that part.

Thanks

Mark

Just get a new one. I recently changed mine along with the clutch cable and it's all back to being smooth as silk.

It was a long time ago, from Collin Collins who are no longer with us,so your price may be right.

Default Worm Drive Ball Bearing Size

Mine was £43.75 from Franco's 11 months ago.
I wouldn't faff with the bearings, chances are the races are stuffed.
