As some of you might know a group of us are leaving next week to ride down through France to Aragon in Spain, do a couple of days off-roading, then catch a ferry back.
It's going to be 29/30 deg C (hopefully). Kit for offloading is provided, so don't need to worry about that. We've had some debate on FB, but despite this I still can't decide what kit to take. So I'm opening it up to other opinions - bear in mind that there will be an overnight ferry outbound and a 24 hr ferry inbound hence why the jeans are on the list (I suppose I'll have to buy some shorts to were aswell. Points to note: Jeans half-zip into my leather jacket but not into my textile jacket. Leathers have quite large stretch panels, so let in quite a bit of wind when moving, and have some perforated panels. Textiles have two vents front and back (jacket) and two on trousers, but they're not the largest in the world. obviously all liners removed. Both leathers and textiles are two piece Wolf Kit. If I'm in textiles I don't need to take waterproofs, if I'm in leathers I do - But I',m not short on room. Second question - Boots: non-waterproof Oxtar boots like these. or waterproof TCX goretex boots like these. Main difference being the fact that the Oxtars will probably let more air in when it's hot and we're moving but will let all water in if it does **** it down. TCXs will just be hot. |

The fact that everyone who's going seems to have a different opinion is why I've decided to ask the Org.
