Default Anodised engine bolts?

04 pointy i have been offered a set of aluminium blue anodised engine casing bolts for my bike but someone has warned me that the aluminium bolts will react with the engine casing is this true? or is cooper slip enough to combat this?

Aluminium bolts? You sure?

Me personally, it'll look like sh*t blue dots around the engine edges. And if that's your silver bike in the photo it would ruin the look. I bought chewies engine bolts when i did a rebuild. They're stainless steel and they look great and i don't have to worry about them reacting the the threads.

If you want to know how it would look go to any supermarket and buy a cheap packet of those coloured sticky dots from the stationery aisle and slap the blue ones on the top of each casing bolt you can see and stand back and have a look.

It's your decision though.

Aluminium bolts won't react that badly with an aluminium engine, of course the reaction depends on the exact mix of metals as all differing metals react, it's called electrolytic corrosion. Whatever is fitted they should be suitably protected, even just a dip of oil will make a big difference.
I suspect there's probably a factory fitted set of bolts in there already, and I reckon that they're holding the bits of engine in just fine.

If you want to improve the bike, there are plenty of ways to do it. While samco hoses and anodised bolts are available they do the job no better than oe parts. I've seen some bikes use these to compliment other changes, but rather a lot just end up looking like they were driven through the bargain bin at halfords. Tread carefully

wise words. i'll also add that if you do get a seized bolt later on your in big trouble as the alloy ones will just snap soon as look at them, good news is they are much easier to drill out.
