Question Hugger for 2013 SV?

So I'm new to the SV650 do I need a rear hugger or is it just a nice to have? I have a 2013 SV650s in black.

dont bother. they do keep a bit more crud from getting under the bike but thats about it. personally i think they are more trouble than the worth. keep your money for service items instead.

Don't need one, but they are good at stopping the rear wheel throwing so much dirt under the bike and I think they look good. If you can afford one and want one buy one, if not don't worry.

Worth the money and then some, will stop any and all **** from the wheel making it's merry way onto your shock and linkages. Will also minimise splatter (dependent on the lube you use) from getting onto your undertray etc. For the sake of a few quid (buy one second hand) it's well worth it.

Any recommendations on which brand to buy? There are so many out there one must be better than the rest!

I've got a Pyramid and it's fine, just the paint has flaked off the swingarm bracket after a year so I need to remove that, sand it down and respray. A friend had a Powerbronze hugger that shattered going over a speedbump after a few years of use, not had any other experience with them so could be a one off.
