So ... I'm looking at being a bit adventurous and I've done my research in regards to the swapping of a 2nd gen guage cluster on to a gen 1 ... The big issue people had was the tacho measuring double?
Well I have a 07 fireblade speedo healer which is apparently compatible with sv650 99-13 and plug n play... So if that is the case of the tacho reading double, in theory wouldn't I be able to attach the speedo healer and rude the speed by 50% and this solve the problem? Suggestions please ![]()

easier solution, just get a second gen speedo drive... there sorted. TBH there should be no difference up to 2005 or when the rev counter on the second gen turned all white.

if you have oem discs they should have 8 buttons. put 4 magnets evenly spaced and a geartooth hall sensor on and bingo, working speedo

Think I might have interpreted it wrong ... It's the revs that appear doubled not the speedo... apparently you have to wire a flip flop in to make it work...

And the FI light will always be on as you do not have the FI system, poss the water temp sensor being different and I think the speedo will also be off due to different amount of pickups.
I think Stig did this to his bike a long time ago.
