Hi everyone.
I was having a general look about at internet sale items and came across this. I know biking technology has been reaching this kind of level for some time now, but I thought I would let things get tested and tested again and also for the prices t drop a bit. You know, stuff like air-bag jackets, heated vests and other hi-tec gear. So what do you think of neck braces? Does anyone use one? Have you heard about them from a mate? Are they OK to live with in the real world? Your thoughts please. http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/defa...aign=ML-181214 |

Look a very good idea, but as the article says - do you want to be the first down the bike meet wearing one? Although the presenter on BIKE WORLD & Superbike tester - Chris northover always wears one !!!! Good price, so would be a good time to give it a go. Would you want to be sat in a wheelchair wishing you had spent £175 ???

I'd go try one on first & see how it fits and if it interferes with your life saver check or any other head movement.

I know a guy who came off his dirt bike wearing one and it stopped him breaking his neck. Now he always wears one on the road.

Looks pretty smart to be fair, I'd get one if I was regularly going on track. No need to worry about what people think, the kinda people who would take the p!ss are the kinda people who'd think any safety gear is pointless.
Looks like it could be integrated in with a leather jacket in the future! Along with airbags and proper back protectors (which are as good as available already) you'll be laughing. Before you know it.. crashing on a bike will be safer than crashing in a car.. ![]() |
