Default rev counter needle colour change

Good afternoon you lot!

I've been fiddling with a few things on my naked curvy and one thing that I decided to do was replace the rev counter bulb with a red LED bulb (the rest of the bike is red and I have red LED's under the tank so I wanted to keep up with the same theme) the only problem is that the needle is also red... I think you can work out why it's a bit inconvenient haha :P

So I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on painting or replacing the needle to make it blue or something so it stands out a bit more.

It's not an issue as I can still read the counter easily enough and I rarely look at it anyway but I was just interested in people's opinions

Not on a bike but I fitted plasma dials to my van the clear needles were no longer lit up so I just painted them matt black with some acrylic paint. Made them much easier to see against the white dials

I Am quite sure that there are led's under the needle, so you can make it any color. Mine looks like this. Plasma dial face, blue led's under the digital part and red under the needle.

@dirtydog thanks, it's ggoodto know that painting the needle won't weigh it down or anything, I wasn't expecting it to but it was one of my paranoid thoughts haha. At the risk of sounding stupid I don't know what plasma dials are...

@MMN mine's a lot older so I have a single T5 bulb at the top of the counter that illuminates the dial and that's it, the needle itself isn't illuminated. If I could have mine how yours is but with the colours switched, so red dial and blue needle, I'd love it!

Plasma dials- basically the whole dial lights up rather than being backlit

Ah right, thanks for explaining that. They're really nice, I don't think I could justify the price of upgrading to plasma though...
