Just thought I'd let you all know my thoughts on my can!
The can's standard retail price ist £320 but I got it from the NEC show last year for £160, after haggling with the chap on the stand! I was very impressed with the can and the service from Scorpion right from the start. The fitting instructions were brief, simple and effective with a diagram of how & where to cut. The baffle comes bolted into the outlet pipe with an allen bolt and it also glue-gunned in so requires a bit of 'persuasion' to get it out for the first time but ater that it's a 30 second - or - so job. Scorpion offer a (limited) lifetime warranty if you register the product within (I think) 30 days, which I forgot to do, so I get a year! ![]() I am now in a position to comment on the amazingly good build quality of the can (see here for pictures of why!!). It stopped my bike being badly damaged and is still fully functional! All I'll do is (hopefully!) replace the end cap & rivet strap and re-pack it at the same time! It looks great and gets lots of comments but the thing that grabs most attention is the sound!! ![]() I heard it from behind for the first time last weekend when I dropped it off at the dealers to be serviced... WoW! Deep, throaty and snarling but blow me, is it loud (with the baffle out)!! Leigh Bradbury was giving me a pillion ride home from there and he told me that he found it sounds very "linear" in that it keeps the same sound throughout the rev range and just gets louder! I listened to it after that and it's true - it stays the same all the way up the rev range and it pops and burbles when coming back down the revs! Te best bit for me came at Llandow on the trackday, where Rob Willet got out his sound pressure level meter and tested a few bikes. Mine was the loudest showing a constant 113 dB with the peak at 113.6dB. I didn't even red-line it! ![]() All in all - one very happy chappy with a noisy and (somewhat less than before) pretty can!! ![]() ![]() |

Trust me - the results are well worthwhile!! ![]() See!! 121.6 dB with the baffle out! ![]() ![]() As for where to buy them - most bike shops sell them and are also fairly competetive on price - Alternatively wait for a bike show & they've normally got a stand there. This is how I got mine! |
