Hi Everyone,
I balanced my throttles yesterday using the carbtune II. Unfortunately time was a bit tight so I didn't have time to take notes and photo's I'm probably going to go through the process on the weekend again if the weathers ok, so will do the photo shoot then. BTW, my throttles were well out of sync and after balancing the bike is runing a dream, the power has returned and all is smmmoooooooth ![]() Carbtune II is http://www.carbtune.com is qbout 60 quid with a very good quality case, service from the company is impeccable (next day delivery even with a change in order). and is extremely easy to use ![]() Cheers Mark |

Thanks for the useful info on Carbtune. In the Haynes manual it say you need to apply a vacuum to the fuel tap to keep it open while adjusting the carbs. How did you do this
![]() ![]() ![]() Want to try this, this weekend as mine is not running as smooth as I think it should. AndyTee |

I'm pretty sure I saw a guide in the FAQ here for setting the throttle sensor properly on the K3.
What exactly does the carbtune do on a fuel injected bike? |

more specifically I meant what does it connect to. I know that normally you'd connect vacumn gauges to the carbs so you could balance them, but what vacumn are they connected to on a fuel injected machine?

the throttle bodies do have a vacumn, but as i have the older version sv i cant tell you specifically where they are, there will be vacumn hoses on them for balancing somewhere

To keep the fuel tap open I usually tee this into the carb that it is normally fitted to. Keep all the lengths of tubing as close as you can to the same lengths as a matter of course, so the vacuums change at the same rate. You'll have to find the tubing and tee piece yourself though.
No used the Carbtune but rukus and others say it's good. Don't use the gauges on the bluepoof site in the pictures, I tried these before and they're a waste of money! |

Oh joy - sounds like the 5 minute job just got much bigger!! I followed Andy4us' tip and read the bluepoof article which makes it sound like an all weekend job - thanks for the tips on fuel tap opening from johnnyrod. Hope it will all be worth while.
