Default k3 clocks and K1 bike ????

Is it possible to fit a k3 clock onto a k1 bike??? We are talking nakid.

I have been reliably informed that the connectors are the same, was just wondering what would happen if I plugged the k3 clocks in???

Any advise welcome

cheers

I'd love to know the same 2.. as the layout of the k3 ones is much better than the one I have.

Cant help with the advice................but why would you want to swap em?
The new clocks are hideous and one of the worst features of a poorly 'styled' bike. only IMHO though!

I don't want to swop them, I just want clocks full stop. And seeing as they are as rare as the proverbial rocking horse poop, so far a K3 is the only type that I have found so far.

Also, I don't care what they look like, I just need a legal bike on the road for work, and quickly

Well the connectors aside, as I don't know if they are the same or not, I can't see any reason why this shouldn't work, the speedo sensor is the same as far as I can see, and the rev counter has an ordinary low tension trigger, the one thing that I can see may not work is the temperature gauge, you'll need to find out if the sensor is the same or not, if they aren't, (and being practical, it won't be), with a bit of luck the K3 sensor will fit the earlier rad, then it'll all work.

On the subject of connectors, even if they are the same, I wouldn't just plug it in, make sure of what each connection does first, and swap as necessary, could be an expensive mistake just to bung it in and see what happens.

I could be wrong but on the k3 I think the temp sensor is nowhere near the rad.Mine went wrong and was fixed under warranty and they had to take the tank and airbox off to get to it.The rad temp sensor controls the fan only I think.

cheers for the info Ian, its Rictus that would be doing the work for me anyway. Would still like concrete evidence that this would work though, before any money was swopping hands
