Default Oxford Sports Panniers 2004

Bought the other week for an impromptu camping trip.
Definitely a knack to fitting them quickly (practise required).
Seem to be very well made.
Lots of space (especially if you expand them).
Managed to fit them without rubbing anything (exhaust, indicators, bodywork).
Waterproofing. They come with rain covers. The outer pockets leak quite quickly, the main compartment (with my clothes) was fine. It absolutely chucked with rain and it was a few minutes before I could pull over and put the rain covers on. These worked really well BUT make sure you have exhaust clearance when using them.

Have yet to work how to fit the tail bag at the same time. Didn't need it.
I think they are worth paying out alot more for than the 2003 model because of the different top opening mechanism and rain cover pocket.

I have a set that I've had for about a year (older style but..) and used just about every friday and sunday except the very worst. They have never leaked and I don't use the raincover as it just wastes time. Brilliant investment.

Ah, v. interesting- maybe I should switch my first time luggage for sports luggage? see http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.php?t=19149...

Used mine quite a bit, few bits have got damp but they keep fairly well waterproof..

as for getting panniers and tailpack on I find putting on the panniers first and then bungeeing the tailpack to them works best...

SDB - what is the nack? I have Oxford Sport Panniers (the older ones, not the current model) and I can't fit them. Could you (or anyone else!) describe how you put them on?

Thanks
