Default Fitting of renegade twins.

I need help .

My renegade twins have arrived and I've fitted the replacement can easy enough and now have a on my face. Nicer sound then the Art. However I can't work out how the second exhaust fits without a replacement downpipe. Do I need one??

Thanks anyone who replies. Andy.

Are those ones not basically a big complicated slipon? Keep the original downpipes and collector box, then the cans should have a splitter thing and 2 link pipes (can you call those up-pipes? I'm going to anyway I think)

The underseats are a full system, but AFAIR the duals, both high and low, are slip-ons, giving you a 2-1-2 system.

****, I didn't get any slipons. For the left exhaust I've used the connector I had to put original exhaust on after replacing the Art. I also don't have the splitter, that sounds like the piece im missing.

Was it not a member here you got it from?

Don't take what i've said as gospel, but it seems right...

Andrew

The collector needs to be modified to accept the left hand can. What this involves is having an outlet added to the curly bit near the rear outlet. it exits under the swing arm, and under the chain. The stand will hit this pipe, and its also a good indication of when the chain needs adjusting as it tippity taps on the link pipe.

So you need to send off your collector to Jorge. In the height of the twins revoloution, they used to have a spare collector that they would send out in excahnge for your one.

Thanks for the info. Does this mean removal of the entire exhaust system? or if not how easy is it to swap one for the other? I've no other form of transport.

Sadly yes. You have to remove the front pipe, and can etc, and just send the middle bit (Collector)

Well the front part wont be too difficult (the rear would be a right ****). I'll contact stevec and see if I can work out a swap, otherwise I'm looking at £210 for the exhausts + time and petrol for going to rene hq.

Andy.

It's a piece of **** to get the SV exhaust off, especially if it's been cut for an exhaust like yours. When removing the collector/rear downpipe, don't unbolt it from the engine, there's a short section connected with an allen bolt that you can remove, about 2 inches from the engine- much easier and saves you a gasket.

You might need to replace the front and middle gaskets, then again, you might not.
