Default Police visit

Just had a visit from the police informing me that they'd discovered a list of bikes marked to be stolen, and that mine was on it. They took a note of my registration number.

I'm somewhat worried now. The bike is covered, ground anchored, alarmed etc - not sure what else i can do.

Anyone else experienced anything similar?

Did the police give you a list of all the criminals that we're to be beaten to death by a large group of angry SVers, should they obtain said list?

unfortunately not, they said not to be unduly alarmed as it was a group of kids rather than a professional gang. But if that's the case, they wouldn't be able to nick any reasonably secured bike, so i'm not sure of the point of the visit

No, if they can't knick it, they'll just kick the crap out of it instead

Yes, whilst a bunch of kids would have difficulty knicking a well-secured bike, they could certainly scratch it to buggery/topple it trying

Its seems that it is most secure when its at home, you could get a cctv camera pointing at the bike....

vary your route to work

vary where you park at work (ensure best protection, CCTV etc anchor it to something)

Be aware of tampering to locking devices

and be happy the police are on to them.
