Hartside 10th October anyone?

Just got a new Michelin, MOTed and serviced the bike. Thought I'd have a trip up to Hartside before the weather turns.

This is the planned route. Meet at Burger King/Little Chef just outside Skipton around 09:00-09:30. Head up through Leyburn, Barnard Castle, Middleton in Teesdale and Alston to Hartside, then back via Staward bends, Stanhope and Leyburn back to Skipton.

So who's up for it? Should be a great ride.

Did consider the shorter ride, but I haven't riden for couple of months and really wanted to get up to Hartside again before Winter sets in. Should be a great ride, I've designed it to maximise the time on twisty national speed limits. The road from Hartside cafe to Melmerby is well worth the effort. Which is why I've planned to go down it as well as up.

I've only ever gone north from Alston once and ended up in Hexham, then saw how close I was to Newcastle and decided it was time to turn round and head home! Love the roads round Hartside though, the B6277

Doubt i'll be getting that far north again this year but you never know

It's definitely worth the journey, there are some fantastic roads and they're usually quieter than the Dales too.
