Default end can advice

well, having had the bike for all of four days it is about time to think about some mods, starting with a new end can.

I have done a search for similar topics on here which didn't come up with much so hope i am not asking this question for the zillionth time.

Which is the best can to go for for a combination on noise and power? I prefer the look of oval cans (BillyC's Art titanium looks and sounds gorgeous).

Apart from cutting the standard exhaust off, is there anything else that would need to be done. It's a K3 650s.

Thanks

Will.

I have quill s/s oval t3, tis very nice, though only had it for a few weeks,
and i got it second hand so it was cheaper than every thing!

if i were shopping now, i would opt for either a renegade, micron, or might even risk the hassle of a blue flame!

oh, quill full systems are cheaper than most as well, header are £175 for the older sv and the s/s oval zorst is only 185 when bought with the headers!

Hope tis helps
Alex

In summary, you need to make a choice:

- Road Legal

- "Road Legal" with removable baffle

- Not for Road Use (illegal)

I think you will find that a majority of people on this forum are using an illegal exhaust setup - many of which are legal pipes with the baffle removed.

I like my ART a lot, it didn't cost a lot of money, it was easy to fit, I think it looks and sounds good. Despite what some of the manufacturers tell you, a race can on a twin will need repacking every so often due to the large pulsating pressure from the exhaust. Mine's done about 17000 miles now at a guess (no speedo for a couple of months), and while I could/should have repacked it at the beginning of the year, it's still going nicely (and noisily). But it is a v-twin, and is supposed to sound like that, officer

Can I ask what is the gain from these after market cans, why not keep the original, after all Suzuki must have done a lot of research to get optimum performance from their set up?

It sounds much better, RPM's pick up better and engine isnt as lumpy when riding slowly. Engine breaking doesnt seem as fierce. Also well I reckon anyway my bike is better on MPG with my race can on it.

As for not keeping the orginal well I guess thats personal choice, Suzuki will have designed the stock can so that it meets noise / emissions rules, which doesnt always mean that you get optimum power..

That's what I was gonna say, I've gotta a Micron on, don't know if there is any difference in performance as I never tried the bike with the stock can on, does sound very fruity

Default As per

Nothing sounds sweeter than a line of S.V,starting up with all the different exhaust systems Its one,s personal choice but they are all great compared to stock and the bike def feels "free n easy" in comparision
