Default nearly dropped it this morning

the engine braking got the better of me - was only 20 yards from my front door doing all of 15 mph, went to close my visor, took my hand of the throttle (there's the mistake) and what with a cold engine the bike's engine braking was massive like i'd thrown the brakes on. in front of the neighbours too!

another lesson learned

Will.

Yeah, I learned that one fairly quickly.

Now I see if I can get to work without having to use the brakes at all.

Wish I'd thought of that one last year...

Yep, I try to make a point of rolling off the throttle before removing my hand, rather than letting go completely. Hope you got away with it this time

yep when the engine is cold the engine braking can be harsh, I live on a hill, everytime I pulled away on a cold morning and put it into second the bike would really jolt harshly and no word of a lie everytime id get the equivalent of a slap in the ******** . Now im more experienced I make sure I slip the clutch when engaging second when its cold!

Its one way to learn I guess!
