Default sv won't start

Hi,

I got my 2002 sv-650 last year, middle of the summer. I live in NY and the bike has been stored for the last 3 months. It was plugged into a trickle charger so the battery is still good, but it won't start. The engine won't turn over. The gas tank was had maybe a gallon in it, and I just filled that up. What do you think it could be??? Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Matt

Clutch switch, or possibly side stand cut out switch maybe. A quick check and clean

If either the clutch switch or side stand switch are playing up then it won't turn over.
Have you also checked the kill switch?

Yeah, the side stand switch stops it from turning over, as does the switch on the clutch lever. They can stick.

Just for future reference, I think the term "won't turn over" in the USA is used to mean "won't fire up and run", whereas in the UK it usually means "the starter motor won't turn the engine".

I've had this confusion when I've been working with US engineers. When saying things like "it turns over but won't fire" or "it turns over cold but not when it's hot" it becomes really puzzling.

Please correct me if I'm wrong in this understanding!
