Default Multitool...Snap-on??

Any suggestions on a good multitool? Leatherman Waves are going cheap on ebay but I was after something more useful for the bike. The Leatherman crunch has looking jaws and a hex bit driver...more useful?
I've heard Snap-on do a multitool but cant find it, Mountain biking shops also seem to do some nice kit. Any ideas?
Rich
PS if anyone out there deals with Snapon perhaps they could look into that particular one.

These things are okay for some jobs ie the knife and pliers. but when it comes to screwdrivers they are often dissapointing, either the bits are too soft or you can't get a good grip on the handle.

not Snap-On - Gerber

If its for those fix to get home jobs you would probably be better off replacing parts of the standard tool kit.

I bet the BMW set is better than the Japanese tat anyway.

Leatherman Wave and the Tool adaptor.

Tool adaptor lets you use any screwdriver bits, includeing hex bits.

That gives you, pliers, knives, saws, scsiors, small screwdrivers inside and real driver/hex bits for normal stuff.

Well worth the money in my opnion.

Multi tools are pap. I hate using them. They are clumsy and large.

id rather get the minimum ammount of tools needed to work on the bike in a kit.

However, a mate has a gerber and its as hard as nails, but he dont use it on a bike..

My 2p's worth as uaual.

I know, but they are 'useful' for carrying in a minimal kit etc.

I would think you could carry an entire toolchest on your bike, Dr Rich...

I do actually have a mutlitool as part of my kit, but it's rubbish A B&Q thing that cost me £3. I own a pretty nice leatherman but for most jobs I don't think it'd be any more useful.

If you want compact tools that do a lot, I've seen an excellent folding tool that has allen keys on one side, driver bits on the other, a small range of 1/4 inch sockets (think it's 6,8 and 10mm) and a knife blade... My brother has one, I can try and find out who makes it but I think it set him back about £150 It's not small either, but it entirely kicks ass.
