Default Front End Upgrade Prices...Sound Fair???

Hi all,

I have been offered a set of GSXR 750 k1-k3 forks,yokes,spindle,4 pot calipers for £295. Does this sound like a good price and will they fit the curvey as part of an upgrade?

Cheers,
Andy

They will fit a curvey but the steering lock will not work. Seems a reasonable cost for the kit.

I'd say it's expensive for what you're getting... Not a terrible price, but not very good.

Figure on spending another £40 or so for the custom bearing, at least £30 for a mudguard, and probably £100-£150 for a wheel and £50-£100 for discs. Plus clipons too, GSXR ones aren't ideal, TL1000S is better as they're higher but they can be a awkward to find (or LSL make great high-rise clipons, at a price, about £150)

TBH you'd be better using SRAD bits if you can find them, they fit better and the wheel looks the same as your rear. Or at least, SRAD yokes and wheel. You could stick those forks into SRAD yokes and use the SRAD wheel (I did) but there's not a whole lot of benefit- I like the look more but the forks are almost the same.

And if you do that the other bits- yokes and axle- that you'd have leftover aren't worth much.

SRAD 750 was USD but not in gold, the SRAD 600 is normal forks.

I got K2 forks, spindle and calipers, SRAD yokes and wheel. You'll need to space the calipers in about 2mm so the disc are in the centre of the calipers, do a bit of dremmeling to make the steering lock meat the hole on the frame and get that very important stem bearing

As for costs, you can get back 99% of it by selling your SV bits Heres the costing sheet i did to keep track of my prices, buying and selling

Thats all hoping that everything is ok, such as disks being straight, fork seals being good, calipers not being shagged etc..
