My guess would be your front cylinder going...
Ive had it in the rain on my hire bike (damned thing aint got a fenda extenda) Bike idles.. just about.. at 600 rpm.. stalls if you rev to quickly... the give away was I could put my hand on the front downpipe without my hand burning ![]() Tried strarting the thing next day... didnt dry out.. so off came the radiator, out comes the spark plug cap, and behold.. the thing was full of water.. WD40.. and a few rags in there to get the water out.. started first time after that ![]() |

Front plug lead/cap wet, running on one and a bit cylinders.
Fit mudguard extender, or seal plug cap up better. PS It doesn't only happen to you, it happens to a sizeable amount of SVs.

Water around the front plug, by the sound of it.
It doesn't only happy to you. Get some WD40 in there, make sure the drainage channel is clear (it's on the right, for some reason) and fit a fender extender. |

Hey....do you think it could be water in the front plug
![]() ![]() ![]() Its like a bleedin' race to get in first around here today ![]() Seriously tho as I put on the other thread and so did Sid some in the past like me have juts made sure the cap fits on properly and sealed it well with grease and seem to get away with that. There must be a reason why some bikes do and others dont (other than not being ridded in the rain). Also I'm suspicious of water getting in the drain hole on the cylinder. I reckon I used to get water in there during cleaning. |

Yep I just pull the radiator and the plug cap off, its got water all around the top part of the cap, so I'll clean it and WD 40 it and give er a start up see how it runs, I do recall now that I entered a corner and there was this pool of water, quite large OK I can handle this me thinks! just put me Moto X head in gear and get agressive whoosh heh heh what was all the fuss - OK must get to work now, yep it had completely slipped my red misted mind, tell you wot I'll let you all know in about twenty na 30 mins how it turns out.
Cheers for the info |
