Default That nasty biker....

I was riding in to work this morning when I got to the stretch of the A13 where 3 lanes become 2. As usual I slow down join the middle lane approaching the cut-off point for the third lane and then pull in to filter between lanes 1 and 2 as traffic's slowed down to a crawl.

I filter nice'n'slowly because I know cars in lane 2 will be coming over into lane 1 to leave room for the cars in lane 3 who need to come over.

A white 'trade' marked saloon pulls over into lane 1 ahead of me but having seen me in his mirrors, stays as far over to the right of his lane as he can to keep me behind him. Obviously he'd left a big gap in lane 2 which no-one had pulled into yet so I just nipped round him.

The self-righteous, poo-eating, pea-brained, fart-faced buttmunch actually honked at me...

Some people...

Yeah, I've had this too quite a few times. I think its one of the best things about biking. Don't want you to go through? S0d 'em, just go around them!! No matter what they try to block you they can't stop you getting past.... short of driving into you.

Hmm, I've had this too. Slow traffic, guy looking in his side mirror, car placed just far enough over in his lane to stop you getting past. Git!

It happens all the time, just ignore it and ride round them when its safe to do so and continue on your merry way laughing at the fact that they are stuck in traffic and you are not.

Yep, I love doing that. Just hang back, switch lanes, then go through the gap there instead. Why not give a friendly wave 'bye bye' to the cager concerned as you zoom off into the distance.

On a roughly related not, anyone else notice how 'serious' boy racers, imprezas, skylines, etc. are some of the most considerate when it comes to moving over to let bikers by?

I do hope you gave him the fingers

There are some ****s like this on the road, had similar thing on Monday morning coming into work. Estate Merc won't let me through, just went round him and got infornt of him and slowed down completely for the next mile or so Then when it was clear for both to go just opened the throttle and left him there.

Some are and others aren't just like every other road user groups you'll have the courteous ones and the ****s I quite regularly have some who want to race me at traffic lights on the way home during rush hour, like they are gfonna thread through the car park that is the A10 at that time of the day. Lately I've been finding lorry drivers very friendly. One even closed his side mirrors to let me through this morning.

Yes, I consistantly find lorry drivers to be some of the most capable and courteous road users. So long as you accept their 1mph overtakes on dual carriageways and the inevitable corner cutting/overhang (due to the length of the vehicle) there is very little they seem to do wrong.
