Default ooohhhh, what does this do?

K4 650S,
on weds evening my gear shifter fell off , it seems that its the same problem that a few have had on the site with the lever pivot unscrewing itself from the frame .

there is a thin connecting bar (threaded at each end) which goes from the lever to the gear box, i think that when i refitted to pivot, i turned the con bar a few times.

Now that its all back together shifting seems smoother and less clunky than before the lever fell out , have i accidently correctly adjusted the bar ?, what is the purpose of this threaded bar ?

apart from the obvious connection to the box.

It is used to adjust the height of the gear pedal.

nothing else?

is this what you would adjust to put the pedal in the most comfortable place?

so it doesnt actually effect the operation of the gear box?, so by moving it theres no chance of snafuing the gear selection or anything?.

Yes it would adjust the pedal, this in turn would change the point where the lever would accuate the gear selector, so yes in theory it would change the gear change, but thats only if it was seriously out in the 1st place! If its worked, then cool.
