I have been out and about trying to find another bike to suit an overweight short legged dwarf with a bad hip.

I think I have discovered them.

Has anyone ridden the other one?

Brother's got the z1000,given it a thrash about, nice bike, bit over priced, given the choice the z750 is better value and more performance than you need, you have to change the pipes anyway.

Darrel fitted a pair of two Brothers race pipes

much better sound and vibes.

easy bike to ride to.

Cheers Mark.

The Z1000 is an 05 second hand with 500 miles on the clock :P We have to discuss prices, but Ive booked it out for a test ride on Friday.

I cant really afford it but neither could the first owner, he had to sell it within 2 months of buying it

Im trying an SV1000 at the same time because the bike was out today on demo

having ridden both, I'd say the z1000 is the looker, but the naked sv1000 has more feel, I'm not a great fan of the SV1000 (having owned a TLS in the passed) but , what with the price difference I think the SV would be a better deal, still both nice bits of kit.

Cheers Mark.

I'd go for the z1000 for looks. But for overall comfort and useability i'd actually prefer a fazer 1000.

I have just seen a bloke at MFN bike night who has just bought a Z1000

He took exactly the same bikes I am testing out last week.

He wanted an SV, he has always had twins, and his other choice might have been a Raptor or a Tuono.

The electrics put him off the Italian

But and this is the big but. He rode the SV 1000 and felt it went very well but the brakes were crap . Im hoping that the bike that is used for testing has a problem. I always thought SV Brakes were ok.

I read that the Z 1000 had slightly iffy brakes, but this lad has bought the Z on the strength of how good they were.

Has any one else got any complaints about SV 1000 brakes?
