As personal injury claims can take so long, does anyone know if you can change insurers while this claim is ongoing, or are you stuck with them until the case is settled?

You can change, but when they ask you when you have any outstanding claims, it could put your premium up.
As is my understanding.. |

i have just changed my insurance and had 2 accident in 1 week and they are both outstanding.
Accident 1 was on the bike so i had to get a letter from my solistor to say that they a confident that the accident was not my fault and i would get my 2 years no claims back. Accident 2 was in my car and although it has gone the policy as outstanding (fault) the insureers dont count it as it was a car not bike. So premium has not gone up that much now £920 full comp on brand new ZX6R not garaged in birmingham and im 25 years old not bad i think |
