Default Front Suspension Upgrade

I was at a show last week, admiring an SV, prior to picking my used one up on Friday.

A bloke there commented on the standard soft front suspension, that allows the bike to dive a lot under braking.

He mentioned that about £70 would buy a new set of upgrade front springs, that would 'transfrom' the bike's handling.

Does anyone know who could supply these, or have experience of carrying out the upgrade?

Default Fork off!!

I'm pretty certain that Hagon do springs for an SV.
I've supplied and fitted dozens of sets to various makes and models over the last few years, and yet to have a customer not impressed with the improvement in ride quality.
They supply them with their recommended oil, and they recommended an oil level which is often markedly different from standard. Stick to their specification and I'm sure you will be impressed.
They can be contacted on: 020 8502 6222. I think they're around the £65 mark inc delivery
A good mechanic should take around an hour to fit them.
Any problems or if you need more advice please contact me

Cheers

Loads of different places do springs- Hagon, Progressive, Ohlins, Racetech, Sonic... I#'m running Ohlins .80s with 15W oil (I'm 11 stone) and that's a big upgrade on stock but I'd say the oil's too heavy for me, 12.5W would have been better.

Actually changing them over is pretty straightforward if you can work a spanner, IMO. But it's a bit nervewracking if you don't have an Abba/NWS/similiar stand- you can do it on a standard rear stand and jack if you're brave.

Default Progressive springs

I got progressive front springs on my bike a few weeks ago - they are excellent and firm up the front end and make for much more confident cornering, especially over bumps.

Would definitely recommend them
