Being quite new to My SV650 and to this great forum, I'm impressed that many other users seem to know what K suffix their bikes are. I have looked on the frame of mine and on the Registration Doc, but I cannot find anything. Can anybody tell me anywhere where I can find this out?
My Bike was registered in Nov 2000 and is the earlier type with Rounded frame and old style Back Light assembly and Clocks. And there it is in my forum Avatar, as it was after I had test rode it at the shop, and decided it was the one for me.. \ ![]() thanks |

Hi,
Welcome to the site. K1 & K2 will refer to the curvy bikes (old/original style) while K3-K5 refer to the new style i.e. Pointy Hope this helps! |

If you turn it upside down its written on the bottom....
![]() ![]() Nov 2000 should be a k1... mine was reg sept 2000 and is k1 It should say on your registration document somewhere, does on mine, the only main difference between k1 and k2 is that there are preload adjusters on the top of the forks on the yoke on the k2, the k1 didn't have them.... altho you may have a k1 thats had them put on afterwards.... confused yet ? |

K3 - 2003 model, first of the pointies, and the best K4 - 2004 model, as K3, but lower rear seat, exhaust and modified water pump K5 - 2005 model, as K5, but black frame, modified fuel pump, cam chains and fuel tank sender.

Have a look at your owners manual, it will say which model you have on the back page.
