Default Supermoto

Went to the bike shop this afternoon to get some service items for the DR350 and order some R+G`s for the SV650, came across the new DRZ400 SM in the showroom. I was quite taken with this bike, looks nice etc, (Shame its not available for £1 like the bandit)
Anyone have opinions on this bike, or any other supermoto bikes I could to be looking at?
Been told about R30 ( bit manic?) and the the KTM variants..

Why not just turn your DR350 into a supermoto & spend what you've saved on nice toys !!

O OK - didn't realise it was a pure off-roader

Well, having owned a KTM LC4 640 - I can honestly say - don't touch it with a barge pole unless you want to sepnd as much time stripping down, cleaning & rebuilding it as you do riding it. The build quality was utter crap !!

A mate of mine had the road going DR350 which he converted & said was Ok but lacked 'grunt' - sold it & bought a Husqvarna 610 & that was a sweet machine !! Not cheap though

Guess it's like most things what one person likes - another won't etc.

Best advice would be to try as many as possible & check out any owners clubs for the lowdown.

Good hunting & may your rear end always be sideways !! (if you know what I mean !!)

Thanks for the opinion of the KTM - the LC4 has been mentioned to me, but I would not of guessed it was such high maintenance, although I know their motox bikes are.
My DR350 is road legal, I use it for green laneing, commuting and larking around, but I also feel it would not make a very good supermoto - not enough power.

I didn't realise the reputation that KTM had when I bought mine

It makes sense when you think about it though - 'cos in very basic terms a supermoto is just a dirt bike with different wheels !!!

Any more details? Nothing on Honda UK website. If its based on the CRF450 its likely to be awesome.
