Anyone had the FIAMM horns fall off their bike?
Well i have, 1300 miles into my holiday, it seems like one of the brackets suffered metal fatigue and broke leaving the horn hanging by one wire. I noticed when i came off the motorway into the petrol station and could not get full lock as the horn was stuck between the forks and radiator. Any ideas why this happened? Probably an idea for people to check just incase.

I thought the stock brackets looked a little flimsy so I built my own.
Actually that's a lie, I didn't notice there were brackets in the box so I built my own then found the stock ones ![]()

The shell-type ones (ie not big long horns, wee curly ones) are excellent, and easy enough to fit... I went with one high and one low, which sounds horrible and therefore should be quite effective. The wiring took me a while, mainly because the directions supplied were a load of rubbish! So I binned them and did it by common sense. You can keep your old horn but I'd already removed it for the GSXR front so I didn't have that option. Basically I just put the relay across where the old horn was in the wiring, and ran new cables from the battery. You don't need to ignition switch it because the original horn was ignition switched.
Halfords sell the 2 FIAMMs as a pair under the Ring brand- so do Demon Tweeks- and the addition of the Ring fitment kit made it basically a piece of cake- comes with loads of wire with pre-fitted butt terminals for hte horn and relay contacts. And I just hung them off the top radiator bolts, easy to do. The only bad bit is the testing- I had a bad solder in one of my cables and so I had to do a lot of test honking, which with 139db horns in a small garage is quite bad news ![]()

I think the wiring kit i bought was listed as a Fog light wiring kit, i just chucked the switch and used the wire, fuse & relay.
I cant remember if they did a horn kit that came with all the wires and relays that you needed.
