Default front brake.

i am currently working at my brakes and was wondering :

When you squeeze your front brake lever how much does it move before you can no longer move it any further towards the bar?

I can squeeze mine to within about 30-40mm of the bar and was wondering if this was good enough? My lever is in position 1.

I know my friends R6 brakes solid just after the click for the light to be activated about 15mm from not on.

its not the distance you are looking at as that can be adjusted with the little reach dial on the brake.

Are they a solid feal, not spongy, does not when under presure return eventualy to the bar?

That is what i go by AFIK

I have just given my front brake pads and calipers a good clean out and re-greasing and after I put them all back together I noticed the lever felt a little too solid and wooden when I was riding. So I bled the front brakes tonight and they are now much better, a good feel and better control. I have just got back from a small ride where I tested the brakes and the bike feels great..
