Default Backfire on start up

Unfortunately I am not the most mechanically minded person so if this is a stupid question I apologise. I have noticed in recent time that on occasion when i start my bike (SV650s K3) it backfires. It only does it once and doesn’t do it at all after first starting up. The bike rides perfectly and has no other problems. Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this :?:

Probably a bit of extra unburnt fuel getting into the inlets just as you start it.My zx9r sometimes does it,as did my old zx6r.Nothing to worry about I think.

If you push you bike off then start it it'll often do it. I wheel my bike from the back of my house to the front and she often gives off a cheeky pop.

just for thoes who dont know the sv has an automatic shutoff valve that is opertated by the vac of the engine (on the carbed bikes anyway). So when the bike is not running the fuel is cut off and as soon as it starts it opens again.

Mine's done it a couple of times over the past few weeks. Always when I go home from work, and the bike has been standing in the sun all day. It's a 1999.

Its just the PAIR system coming in to play It will do it even more if you have an aftermarket can fitted.
There is a way around this.

Thanks chaps, sounds as if I've got nothing to worry about other than a few curtain twitchers when I start up in the early hours!! Cheers.
