Default Changed front brake pads today...

What an easy job that was, wish it was that easy when doing them on a car! Pins came out very easily once the cotter pin was removed, no probs with sticking at all. 20 minute job, well happy.

I went with standard EBC (not the HH stuff) cos I don't ride that hard and heard the sintered pads can wear discs faster. Doubt I'd notice much difference anyway.

I can highly recommend these guys: www.brakes4u.co.uk if anyone else is looking for pads or discs. Free shipping and a 10% discount on pads so cost £31.62 all-in for both front pairs. Ordered Thursday evening and they arrived this morning, can't say fairer than that

Now onto the real fun... spark plugs and coolant change

Paul.

I did!

Went from EBC standards to Carbone Lorraine sintered ones. SUPERB! You just don't need to pull the lever as hard to get the same braking power, but when you do pull the lever hard.......whoa!

I did mine recently too... Did ya remember to remove the 'shims' from the old pads?

I didn't. I only realised my mistake when I read the manual after doing the job... and I had to retirve the old pads out of the bin

My front brake seems to be getting worse and worse, just no bite. I think it may be dead after 12k, time for a new set!

Yep put the metal clips on the new pads.

Doing the pads set me off on a roll, ended up changing spark plugs (aargh!), coolant, oil and brake fluid (front and rear). Only other thing I'd like to have done was the air filter but didn't have one and not much chance of getting one on a Sunday afternoon.
