You say "Hello, I've fitted a non-standard exhaust system to my bike
![]() They'll say "Is it a road legal system ![]() ![]() You'll say "No ![]() ![]() They'll say "Ha ha ha ha ha..." You'll say "Is there a problem ![]() They'll say, "Yes, you aren't covered" or "That shouldn't be a problem, send us £*** to cover the extra" or "Tell us when you renew your policy & we'll sort it out then..." You should have found out the insurance situation first. My policy with Carole Nash allows me a non-legal system so I'm okay but I did contact them first to check. However I wouldn't worry about it unduly as if it doesn't significantly increase the power of your bike (and there's likely to be little or no power increase if truth be told) then they haven't much of a leg to stand on - particularly when the replacement cost of a standard can is considerably more.
