Default Alarms and immobilisers

Any ideas about which alarm and immobilisers are the best? I need a Thatcham cat 1 according to Carole Nash. Carole Nash said they would fit one for £295 is that a good price?

I want one that talks ideally, and say;

"This bike is alarmed and dangerous."

"Stop move away from the beautiful SV"

Also is there a way of wiring up the alternator with the metal work on the bike to give people a nasty electric shock if they touch the bike? or would this just drain the battery quick?

£295 is about standard for a good alarm/immobiliser including fitting. I am having my offical suzuki alarm/immobiliser fitted by the guy's at my local suz dealer's (I asked and they said the official alarm is just a datatool system 3) for £300

Carole Nash do the Datatool system 3, which is what I have and the price is reasonable.

Only if you leave the motor running when you park the bike.

Just my opinion but;
Alarms are a bloody nuisance which will sooner or later strand you in the middle of nowhere or flatten your battery or cause electrical problems which will need fixing.They won't stop your bike getting nicked by serious scum.
Can you get insurance without fitting one? Some companies do and if you can get a quote it will probably be dearer but not £300 dearer.As an example I thought all big sportsbikes needed a Cat 1 system to get insured until I shopped around.I found I could get insured without it and the best quote was only about £30 more.
Have a phone around.

I heard that the official alarm is an Acuman alarm as i have a datatool 3 and it is not that official alarm for sure

I called my local dealers and he said "hold on I'll go check" comes back a few minutes later and said it was a datatool with a cardboard suzuki sleve over it

Looking at pictures though it does look like the Acumen... hmmm, I'll have to pay a visit to my suzuki dealer before I put this on my insurance
