http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/11...ment_database/ Cameras every 400 meters (or yards, according to the non-metric Sunday Times) measuring your speed and checking that you have insurance, tax and MOT and aren't driving a stolen vehicle, or wanted by the cops and whatever else they can think of. I don't mind the mot, tax, insurance and criminal catching bit, but no more speeding ever again?  So do I emigrate to Canada or New Zealand? |

I'd go for NZ, or simply become the B-road king - more fun anyway
 .Out of interest, does anyone know the penalty for not having a number plate? "It was there when I started off today officer..." . |

I think NZ is gonna get a tad crowded at this rate
 I can't believe the lack of resistance to this massive consolidation of power that is going on in front of our noses here.The information being compiled is vast,and knowledge is power.What does power do?Power corrupts,and absolute power corrupts absolutely.That's the direction we are going in and God help us.We urgently need checks and balances putting on this power as what we have are totally out of date with the technology now available.

no number plate = £30 fine, same as for too small or wrong font. This is being cracked down on as ANPR use increases as the plates cannot be read by the camera unless in the correct font.
