Happy Birthday Saint Matt - 18 today

In case you don't look at 'Idle Banter' my lad Matt is 18 today. Just wanted to wish him all the best.

Out at Franky & Benny's (next to Pidcock's in Derby) tonight for a family and friends do, up to Stoke for mini-moto racing next weekend. Pity he'll have to wait a bit for his main prezzie (Xbox 360) as they're not out for another couple of weeks.

By the way - Franky & Benny's are definitely NOT on my recommended resauarants list. Service was very slow and they completely forgot two of our twelve meals !! Had to start from scratch and the poor guys had to sit and watch us eat for 20 minutes.

Still - those two came free, and as I was picking up the tab (and my meal came on time) all's well that ends well says he selfishly.

Still cost £230 for that little lot though. Got any spare change guvnor?

I don't recommend F&B's in Burton either. Food was OK but again very slow service.

i dont recommend them anywhere last time i went i ordered spaghetti with meatballs took a bite and they were frozen sent them back and the same plate of food came back still frozen they couldnt even use a mirowave...tossers

By the way - I also hate mini-moto racing. First time I've done proper races on them was yesterday. Two 15 minute races at Fastlane, Stoke. Races were about 14 minutes too long - I'm just not meant to crouch down like that for so long. Ached like bloody hell afterwards. After about 5 minutes of each race I thought 'sod it' and just went around grumpily at my own pace.

The fact that all but one of the 17 / 18 year olds we took were faster than me has nothing to do with my opinion. Watch this space - no doubt my smart arsed son will post a video of him zooming past me. He's taken great delight in showing it to everyone who's been to our house.

Neither has the fact that I crashed on the first lap of the first race and ended up over the barrier, landing in a heap on the tyres behind it. Took a nice gouge out of my helmet, lucky I used my old one.

Not only that - all that pain cost £100 after paying for me and Matt, and subsidising his mates. Don't know what hurts more, my joints or my wallet.

At least now he is 18 Keith, you can stop legally paying towards his upkeep :P

Thought this was quite funny when I first heard it (note to self remind daughter that I looked after her when she ****ed herself constantly and talked utter nonsense)
