Default Integrated blinkers

I have a 2005 sv650s, I took the whole blinker and lisecse plate holder off. I want to integrate the blinkers into my taillights. Does anyone know exactly how to splice the blinkers into the tail lights? I think they make a kit for it but if all possible I would like to do it myself.

I don't think it can easily be done with standard parts, there's only two input connections for the rear light assembly - one for the rear light and one for the brake light - therefore no easy way of separating the two light clusters left and right.

It may be possible to disassemble the light assembly and find the internal connections, but it could end up being an expensive way to find out you can't.

Have an ask on SVRider, the integrated back light thing seems to be a more common trick over the other side of the water, so someone may already have done this with standard bits, or found out it's not possible/practical.

The integrated light is from Clear Cltrnatives (www.clearalternatives.com) in the US. Buy direct, not through Ebay, it's cheaper (well at least here in the UK).

Please be aware, that although it looks great, from a distance other road users will have a problem working out if you are signalling left or right, that's why when I did a similar mod to my GSXR, I also kept some "mini" indicators on the bike.

one of my best friends has these (clear alterturnatives) on his k4 sv650s. it's easy to do BUT on there own they are hard to see, so he has had to leave the original cators on as well. which kinda defeats the point . oh it is IMO likely u would get pulled by the police as well with just the intergrated cators.

Apparently its OK to have intergrated indicators in the US but not over here, is this true?

I've had them on their own for about 9 months now and haven't had any problems. Although they are difficult to see on their own as I found out when I was riding behind a Kwak with integrated ones. So I have got some nice mini ones which I intend to put on this weekend.

There has to be a minimum distance between the indicators to cpmply with MOT regs - the ditance is the same as a standard number plate IIRC
