Default Regrets? I've had a few.....

I wonder what any of you would consider your biggest regret in connection with your biking? Wrong machine selection at some point? Add on bits that failed to live up to what you had hoped? Or taken on a job that just mushroomed on you?
Or perhaps some incident that happened when you were riding a bike?
There must be hundreds of options............

Not taking stock of my situation and slowing down after i first got busted for speeding. 5 other speeding offences built up and resulted in my being banned from driving. I got license back after 6 weeks were up.. but did i listen? Nope.

Now im banned for 3 years.

Lesson learned... (way too late) Absolutely.

For the "thrill" of going fast, i now cant drive/ride for a long while.. so what did i achieve... nothing.

THAT, is my biggest regret - not listening to advice, not listening to my own conscience, and just riding too damned fast. Save it for the race track.

3 years Joe, when did that happen? Did I miss a thread or have you only just come out.

My biggest regret without doubt was disengaging my brain when my best mate showed me how to clean my chain after I passed my test. He always did it with the engine running and bike in gear.

After losing the top of my thumb, from just below the nail, I sort of miss being able to do those tricky little jobs like putting the retaining clip and caliper spring screws on when working on my bike - or trying to hold a bolt when threading a screw through a hole - it makes the job 20 times longer and frustrating. But as injuries go I'm pretty lucky, and I never really used the nail much anyway!

When I was 16 (1986) I had a moped.
When I was 17 (1987) I sold the moped and bought a car.
I thought to myself at the time "I'll get another bike and do my test next year"
The next year was 2005
