Shame the story is so brief, what were the traffic conditions like I wonder. All very well the police being po-faced BUT if he was the only thing on the road then it's hardly the crime of the century.

Don't they means test these fines ? My brother got caught doing 120mph on the m6 toll and got a 7 or £800 fine (reduced to about £500 as he turned up to court on time). He earns a decent wedge and had to submit financial information before hand.

I do remember some talk about £10/mph over the limit though which would make sense in his case .......

Bit of a boring write up wasn't it? Usually you can rely on dramatic phrases like.

" careered along on his high powered machine"

"leaving fellow road users in his wake"
