Shame the story is so brief, what were the traffic conditions like I wonder. All very well the police being po-faced BUT if he was the only thing on the road then it's hardly the crime of the century.

Don't they means test these fines ? My brother got caught doing 120mph on the m6 toll and got a 7 or £800 fine (reduced to about £500 as he turned up to court on time). He earns a decent wedge and had to submit financial information before hand.

I do remember some talk about £10/mph over the limit though which would make sense in his case .......

doesn't it say he was actually banned for six months? he also had to pay costs. Was anyone here banned?
