Default What is the most powerfull sv650 ever

Hi people, just wondering how much can actually be got out of an sv650cc engine, also as a matter of interest how powerfull is the 700 (750?) version.

And for that matter how far can the 1000 be tuned?

SVs have been taken to 105bhp or thereabouts... But they tend not to last very long like that A 700cc or 750cc boreout can vary wildly in power, depending on what else is done to it- there's loads of handy dyno charts on the JHS Racing website to give you an idea.

It'd be pretty ridiculous to do the big-bores without doing intake/exhaust and cam work first though, so a power figure for 700cc alone won't tell you much.

Personally, I looked at it for a long time but decided against it- it's a lot of extra stress on the engine, and the SV's bottom end isn't the toughest. It's fine for tuningin the standard bore but boring it out can be a short route to trouble unless you do it properly (ie, rebuild bottom end too, again see JHS) but that's expensive. IE, buy another bike expensive

oh, easily - in fact, if you get a blue one and bore it out to 801cc and fit a supercharger and nitrous then 200 bhp is easily achievable - I know coz my mate down the pub told me

Nah... Well, maybe if you build a suicide engine, but nothing that'll be usably reliable.
